The fourth of five annual television specials by Frank Sinatra, after his departure from Columbia and the founding of Reprise Records saw him more in control of his career and revitalized artistically. In the same way he did with his now-legendary Reprise recordings, Sinatra up-ended the whole idea of a 1960s television special by focusing the special's content entirely on performance. Nominated for an Outstanding Variety or Musical Program Emmy Award.
