Laurel Srevens (Jane Russel), an actress, is kidnapped by a couple of inexperienced crooks, Mike Valla (Ralph Meeker) and "Dandy" (Keenan Wynn) on the night of the premier of her film "The Kidnapped Bride." Laurel worries that the kidnapping will appear to be a publicity stunt and damage her career, so she begins to aide them in the crime.
