Based on the 1950 novel by Georges Arnaud. A group of men are all in hiding from their previous lives for various reasons in a remote village in Colombia. Under the promise of money and citizenship, they are hired as truck drivers to transport a very unstable shipment of dynamite.

Set in Veracruz, Mexico, Jerusalem, Israel, Paris, France, Elizabeth, New Jersey and Porvenir, Colombia, shot on location in Paris, France, Veracruz, Mexico, Alto Gracia, Dominican Republic, Elizabeth, New Jersey, Jerusalem, Israel, and Bloomfield, New Mexico .
