Based on the 1964 novel of the same name by Len Deighton. British secret agent Harry Palmer (Michael Caine) is sent to Berlin to facilitate the defection of Colonel Stok (Oskar Homolka), a Soviet Intelligence officer. Once Palmer arrives in Berlin he quickly finds that the situation is much more complicated than he anticipated.
