Native Son [Son af de Sorte]

Buenos Aires: Argentina Sono Film, 1952. Original program for the 1952 Danish release of the film. Based on Richard Wright's 1940 novel, and with numerous images of the author, who plays the lead role in the film. Text in Danish.

In a move that placed him in a category with Mickey Spillane, Richard Wright accepted an offer to star as leading man in a film based on the primary character in his own novel. Wright was cast after initial choice Canada Lee, who had starred in Orson Welles' stage adaptation, was stuck in South African customs after shooting "Cry the Beloved Country."

Set in Chicago, and shot on location in Chicago and Argentina.

Side stitched, 8 x 5.5 inches (20 x 14 cm). Black and white, six pages, with black and white images throughout. Near Fine, with light rust to the staples and associated foxing.
