A Kansas City waitress who enjoys watching a sappy hospital soap opera witnesses the violent murder of her husband and, as a result of her ensuing post-traumatic stress, begins to believe that she is a character in that soap opera. Received an award for Best Screenplay at Cannes, and nominated for the Palme d'Or.
Shot on location in California, Arizona, and Rome.
