Universal City: Universal Studios, 1976. First Draft script for the 1977 film, here under the working title "Bandit."
One of the most successful films of 1976, and a capper for Burt Reynold's impressive 1970s run as a roving badass. Bo "Bandit" Darville is a race car driver and part-time bootlegger hired to transport 400 cases of illegally obtained Coors beer from Texarkana to Atlanta in under 28 hours, accompanied by his partner Cledus "Snowman" Snow and pursued by pesky Texas county sheriff Buford T. Justice. Followed by two sequels, and beloved by Southern audiences as, in the words of Billy Bob Thornton, not so much a movie as a documentary.
Set in Georgia and Texarkana, shot on location in Georgia.
