A Town Called Hell [A Town Called Bastard]

London: Benmar Productions, Circa 1971. Revised Draft script for the 1971 Spanish/UK Western, here under the original release title "A Town Called Bastard." Copy belonging to actor Martin Landau, with his manuscript ink annotations on the title page. Laid in with the script are a number of production documents, including a set of approximately 50 revision pages with annotations by Landau, two carbon typescript shooting schedules, an exhibitor's showmanship manual, and two Spanish newspaper clippings.

Also laid in is a vintage photograph, showing director Robert Parrish at work on the set.

A woman whose husband was wrongfully killed by Mexican revolutionaries arrives in a corrupt village, offering a reward to anyone who can help her bring the revolutionary leader to justice. The title was changed for the US release, as "bastard" was considered offensive.

Set in the fictional Mexican town of Bastard (or Hell), shot on location in Madrid and Andalusia, Spain.
