Kean: A Play for Life [Kean: A Film Biography]

Frederic Kimball (screenwriter)

New York: N.p., 1983, 1990. Two scripts for an unproduced film, a 1983 First Draft script and a 1990 Draft script. The First Draft script, titled "Kean: A Film Biography," contains a few annotations in holograph marker of text and dialogue corrections. The 1990 Draft script is entitled "Kean: A Play for Life."

Accompanying the First Draft script is a Laid in letter, as well as photographically duplicated copy, signed "Fred," with New York address and telephone number and dated 6/12/83, in holograph marker, from Frederic Kimball to producer Elliott Kastner. Kimball closes the letter with "I hope you are still interested. Al is.," likely referring to Al Pacino, a longtime confidant and collaborator on films such as "Looking for Richard" (1996), "Author, Author" (1982), "Dick Tracy" (1990), and "And Justice for All" (1979). Also laid in is an additional copy of the first page of the First Draft script.

From the estate of film producer Elliott Kastner, whose best known credits include "The Long Goodbye” (Robert Altman, 1973), "The Missouri Breaks" (Arthur Penn, 1976), and “Heat” (Michael Mann, 1996).
