N.p. N.p., Circa 1975. Draft script for the 1975 play, which premiered on October 26 at the ANTA Playhouse. With a single holograph ink annotation to the title page.
Playwright William Inge's rewrite of his Pulitzer Prize-winning 1953 play "Picnic", about an attractive young drifter whose arrival into a small town inadvertently causes upheaval among its residents. Although "Summer Brave" was published in 1962, the original manuscript was written before "Picnic"--in effect, making the latter play the revision instead of the other way around.
Set in Independence, Kansas.
