Distraught after her second miscarriage and learning that she will never have children, a woman accidentally injures a child while driving at night. In a rush to attend an event honoring her husband, she does not follow the child to the hospital, but later secretly volunteers there in order to help the child, even though it will likely lead to her being discovered and blamed for the accident.
