Based on Thomas Heggen's 1946 novel "Mister Roberts," adapted for Broadway by Joshua Logan and Heggin in 1948, and in 1955 for the screen by Logan. "Ensign Pulver" would be Logan's sequel, made nine years later.
Shot on location in Mexico and California.
