Harry and Tracey King (Robert Young, Maureen O'Hara) put an ad in the paper for a live-in babysitter which is answered by Lynn Belvedere (Clifton Webb), who turns out not only to be a man, but a most eccentric man at that, and one with a mysterious past.

Nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor for Clifton Webb.
