Guido Falcone (Terence Hill) inherits a billion dollars from his uncle, the stipulation is that he must reach San Francisco within twenty days to claim it, and his uncle's greedy assistant John Cutler (Jackie Gleason) is intent on keeping the money for himself, hiring a detective (Valerie Perrine) to prevent him from arriving.

Set in Italy and California, shot on location in Rome and Sonoma, Petaluma, and San Francisco, California.
