Inspector Mariani (Massimo Girotti) suspects a group of young criminals (led by a professor's son Stefano [Jacques Sernas]) are actually university students, so he enrolls to investigate, and falls in love with Luisa (Carla Del Poggio), sister of Stefano.

Set in post-war Rome.
