Page entered into the film industry in the final years of silent pictures, and was one of the first Latina film actresses in Hollywood. She was best known for her starring role in "The Broadway Melody" (1929), the first sound film to win an Academy Award for Best Picture. She made several films with MGM, including "War Nurse" (1930) and "Night Court" (1932). She retired in 1936 after the release of "Hitch Hike to Heaven" and did not appear onscreen again until 1996, when she was the subject of several documentaries as the last living actress to have appeared as an adult in silent films.
