The second novel in the author's Williamsburg Trilogy, also later collected as "The Brooklyn Novels." The first two depicted Jewish life in Williamsburg, and this final one, in Brighton Beach. Basis for the 1947 film noir "The Gangster."

Very Good in octavo wrappers, rear wrapper roughly detached but present, with a slight spine lean and light creasing on the front wrapper.
