New York: Vanguard, 1937. Advance Reading Copy in wrappers, preceding the First Edition. Owner name in holograph ink on the half-title page. Rare, this being the only example we have ever encountered.
The second novel in the author's Williamsburg Trilogy, also later collected as "The Brooklyn Novels." The first two depicted Jewish life in Williamsburg, and this final one, in Brighton Beach. Basis for the 1947 film noir "The Gangster."
Very Good in octavo wrappers, rear wrapper roughly detached but present, with a slight spine lean and light creasing to the front wrapper.
