San Diego: Greenleaf Classics, 1971. A cogent illustrated history of the "tijuana bible" phenomenon, which took popular icons without permission from every available source--movies, comic strips, and popular culture in general--and put them in 8-page comic strips so filthy that today they still have no rival. The four volumes focus on 1930-1960, the years that saw the bulk of issuance for these under-the-counter side-stapled gems.
All volumes with pages toned as always found (though still supple), else Near Fine with minor wear in perfect bound small quarto wrappers. Uncommon to find both in this condition and as a set.
