The Sleeping City

A hospital orderly is murdered, leading New York police to send in an undercover detective to hunt down the culprit. Unlike many of its contemporaries, shot entirely on location, in documentary style, although objections from then-mayor of New York William O'Dwyer obligated director Richard Conte to add a prologue assuring the viewer that the film was fictive.

Set and shot on location at Bellevue Hospital in New York.

White titled wrappers, noted as production No. 1623, dated FEBRUARY 10, 1950, with credits for director George Sherman and actors Richard Conte, Coleen Gray, Richard Taber, John Alexander, Peggy Dow, and Alex Nicol. Title page integral with the front wrapper, as issued. Mimeograph duplication, rectos only. Pages Very Good plus, bound with two silver brads at the top edge.
