Bergman Roberto Rossellini (subjects)

N.p. N.p., 1955. Vintage black and white photograph of Ingrid Bergman and her husband Roberto Rossellini leaving the premiere of Gilbert Cesbron's film "Chiens perdus sans collier" in Paris. With the stamp of International News Photos on the verso, along with a newspaper clipping marked with a date stamp reading S OCT 26 1955 2.

Bergman relocated to Europe for several years following the public exposure of her extramarital affair with Rossellini in 1950. The couple's first son, Renato, was born out of wedlock, causing a media frenzy in the US and resulting in an acrimonious divorce and custody battle between Bergman and her first husband Petter Lindstrom. During her years on the continent, Bergman most notably appeared in Rossellini's 1954 film "Journey to Italy," but made a triumphant return to Hollywood two years later to appear in "Anastasia," for which she won her second Academy Award.

7 x 9 inches. Very Good, with a diagonal crease affecting the lower portion of the photograph.
