Wilson left her career as an Alabama schoolteacher after winning a beauty contest in 1915, moving to California and eventually signing a contract with Paramount Pictures. The actress appeared in over 150 films between 1919 and 1928, including "Miss Lulu Bett" and "What Every Woman Knows" (1921), "The Covered Wagon" (1923), and "Ransom" (1928).
