An amateur astronomer and school teacher witness an unidentified flying object crash land in the Arizona desert. Upon further inspection, it turns out to be an alien spaceship. This is the first 3-D film released by Universal-International. Originally based on a story treatment by Ray Bradbury.

Set in Arizona, shot on location in California.
