Carmen
N.p. N.p., Circa 1915. Vintage matte-finish borderless portrait photograph of Theda Bara from the 1915 film, showing actress Theda Bara smiling coyly.
Based on Prosper Merimee's 1845 novella. A Spanish soldier falls in love with a passionate Romani woman named Carmen, quickly succumbing to obsession and self-destruction. Director Raoul Walsh pushed the film quickly through production, hoping to finish before rival director Cecil B. DeMille's adaptation, starring Geraldine Farrar, was complete. Today considered a lost film.
