With manuscript ink annotations to the verso, along with a stamp indicating that the photo came from the library of noted film historian and tastemaker Maurice Bessy.

A bravely optimistic gold prospector (Chaplin) struggles to survive in the Klondike, where prospectors face starvation, sickness, loneliness, and animal attack. Frequently considered Chaplin's greatest work, a masterpiece of the silent film era.

Set in Alaska.
