The Predators

Archive of material for an unproduced Western film, including two draft scripts, two xerographically duplicated copies of Ernest Haycox's story with manuscript ink annotations, four pages of handwritten notes for the screenplay, and an original draft for the script containing a mix of typescript and xerographically duplicated leaves. First Draft script with a brief typed note from screenwriter Johnny Crawford clipped to the title page, introducing the script, and a single manuscript ink annotation to page 16, noting an editorial revision.

Based on the 1948 story "Dead-Man Trail" by Ernest Haycox. A man carrying a large shipment of gold dust tries to shake bandits off his trail on his way from California to The Dalles, Oregon.

Blue titled card wrappers. Title page present, dated December, 1966, with credits for screenwriter Johnny Crawford and story credits to Ernest Haycox. 31 leaves, with last page of text numbered 30. Xerographic duplication, rectos only. Pages Very Good plus, wrapper Very Good plus, bound internally with three gold brads.
