Based on the 1965 novel by Katya and Burt Gilden writing as K.B. Gilden, a story of racial prejudice and land ownership in the deep south in 1946. The film debut of actress Faye Dunaway.

Set and shot on location in Georgia.

White pictorial wrappers. Title page present, dated May 27, 1966, noted as Revised, stamped No. 151, with credits for screenwriter Thomas C. Ryan and novel credits to K.B. Gilden. 225 leaves, with last page of text numbered 218. Xerographic duplication, rectos only, with blue revision pages throughout, dated variously between 5/16/66 and 5/27/66. Pages Near Fine, wrapper Very Good plus, with a partial ring stain on the front wrapper, bound internally with a silver prong.
