Harryhausen and Schneer enjoyed a decades-long collaboration, producing twelve features in total, beginning with "It Came from Beneath the Sea" (1955) and ending with this film. Harryhausen is best remembered for his creation of "Dynamation," a groundbreaking form of stop motion model animation first used in "The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms" (1953).
