Based on the 1930 novel by William Faulkner, about the death of matriarch Addie Bundren, and her impoverished, rural family's subsequent attempts to honor her wishes to be buried in her hometown of Jefferson, Mississippi. Screenwriters Jerzy J. Kromolowski and Mary Olson-Kromolowski were best known for co-writing "The Pledge" (2001) and "In the Electric Mist" (2009).

Set in Mississippi.
