N.p. N.p., Circa 1970. Two vintage borderless reference photographs from the 1970 film, both attributed to the film's photographer Chris Marker. One photograph shows director Costa-Gavras, the other a crew member with a clapboard.
Based on the 1968 memoirs of Czechoslovak communist Artur London, a defendant in the violent, antisemitic show trial against 14 members of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia in 1952.
Reference photographs taken by Costa-Gavras' friend and colleague Chris Marker, who would go on to become an important figure in the French New Wave in his own right, directing "A Grin Without a Cat" (1977) and "Sans Soleil" (1983).
Shot on location in Nord, Alpes-Maritimes, and Pas-de-Calais, France.
