Kidnapped

Hollywood: Lindsley Parsons Productions, 1948. Lined Draft script for the 1948 film, copy belonging to uncredited script supervisor Ilona Vas. Front wrapper with an orange label with the annotation "Cutter's Script / Do not remove from files." Annotations on recto and verso of all but four pages, in holograph graphite, red, and blue pencil, yellow wax pencil, and green ink. Bound in, following script, are three form pages in which Vas lists each major character and the script page in which the character first appears, dated "4-25-48."

Based on the 1886 novel by Robert Louis Stevenson, first published in the May to July 1886 issues of Young Folks magazine. Adapted for film and television ten times, the first in 1917, directed by Alan Crosland for Edison Studios, starring Raymond McKee, and most recently in 2005 as a two part BBC television movie, directed by Brendan Maher, and starring James Anthony Pierson.

Young heir David Balfour's greedy uncle Ebenezer conspires to have the boy kidnapped to sea and sold into slavery to keep him from his birthright.
