The Story of Ivy

London: William Heinemann, 1927. First Edition. INSCRIBED by the author on the front endpaper: "G. Murray Brownwell / with kind thoughts of the writer / Marie Belloc Lowndes." Inscription has offset slightly onto the front pastedown, and is very slightly blurred in a couple of spots (though not to a disagreeable extent).

Basis for the 1947 film noir "Ivy," directed by Sam Wood and starring Joan Fontaine, Patric Knowles, and Cedric Hardwicke.

Very Good in blue cloth, lacking the rare dust jacket. Binding slightly cocked, with some brief dust soiling on the front board. In a custom green quarter-leather clamshell box.
