From Here to Eternity
Culver City, CA: Columbia Pictures, 1953. Final Draft script for the 1953 film, with annotations in holograph pencil on the front wrapper of "Columbia Pictures Corp.," and "Please Return to Central Files," and annotations of an arrow and check marks in holograph ink and red pencil on three pages.
Based on the 1951 novel by James Jones. Every story in the film is riveting, but no words can do justice to the its most famous scene, the nocturnal romantic rendezvous on the beach, with Burt Lancaster's and Deborah Kerr's bodies intertwined as the waves crash over them. Winner of eight Academy Awards. Nominated for the Palme d'Or.
