Before Breakfast: A Play in One Act

New York: Frank Shay, 1916. First Edition.

One of Eugene O'Neill's earliest plays, a one-act tragedy featuring one on-stage character, a cantankerous housewife named Mrs. Rowland. The production was originally staged by the Provincetown Players at their theatre at 139 MacDougall St. in Greenwich Village in December, 1916. The Provincetown production starred O'Neill himself as Mrs. Rowland's largely unseen husband.
