Three vintage borderless photographs showing French actor, film critic, and novelist Noël Simsolo with directors Walerian Borowczyk, Werner Herzog, and Jean-Marie Straub, respectively. Two photographs glossy, and one matte-finish. Two with annotations in manuscript pencil on the verso, and one with annotations in manuscript ink.

In addition to enjoying a successful career as a director and actor, Simsolo is the author of several well-regarded works of film criticism, including essays on Billy Wilder, Howard Hawks, Alfred Hitchcock, Boris Karloff, Kenji Mizoguchi, Jerry Lewis, Clint Eastwood, and Fritz Lang.
