Based on Samuel Hopkins Adams' 1933 magazine story "Night Bus," about a strong-willed heiress who falls in love with a newspaper reporter while attempting to escape the control of her wealthy father. The first film to sweep the Academy Awards in five major categories (Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director, and Best Screenplay), a classic of screwball comedy, featuring two icons of early Hollywood at their peak.
