Based on Carlo Maria Franzero's 1957 book "The Life and Times of Cleopatra." Twentieth Century-Fox's ambitious, bank-breaking venture, the most expensive production ever made at the time, and the first film to pair Taylor with Richard Burton, beginning their tumultuous love-hate relationship.
Set in Egypt and Rome, and shot on location in Spain and Italy.
