Four original photographs of Luise Rainer, circa 1940s
N.p. Paramount Pictures, Circa 1940s. Four vintage publicity photographs of actress Luise Rainer, circa 1940s. With Paramount Pictures credit at the bottom left corner of the recto.
Rainer is most famous for being the first actress to win back-to-back Academy Awards for Best Actress in a Leading Role in 1937 and 1938 for "The Great Zeigfeld" (1936) and "The Good Earth" (1937) respectively. She did a number of stage productions and films in Austria and Germany before she started working with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, a contract that lasted only three years due to the high expectations placed on her after her double Oscar win. Her role in "Hostages" (1943) was her only credit with Paramount Pictures.
8 x 10 inches, Very Good, with fading and some slight creasing. One photograph with toning.
