Freddie Bartholomew, Millicent Mary Bartholomew (subjects)

N.p. N.p., 1937. Vintage photograph of actor Freddie Bartholomew and his aunt Millicent Mary Bartholomew in 1937. Reference library stamp on verso, dated April 7, 1937, along with a provenance stamp.

Bartholomew was an English-American child actor whose career was active mostly in the 1930s. His most well-known film roles were "Little Lord Fauntleroy" (1936), "Captain Courageous" (1936), and "David Copperfield" (1935). This photograph was likely taken during a highly-publicized custody battle between Bartholomew's parents and his aunt. The court ruled in favor of his aunt in late 1937.

10 x 8 inches. Good, with two tears along the right edge, and two lightly rusted staples at the top margin.
