N.p. N.p., 1954. Vintage photograph of actors Jeanette MacDonald and Gene Raymond backstage at a concert at the Dell Music Center in Philadelphia in 1954. Manuscript ink annotation on the verso identifying the year and venue, then known as the "Robin Hood Dell."

MacDonald and Raymond were married in 1937. MacDonald was an influential American soprano singer and actress, a Broadway regular in the 1920s, and star of several key musicals like "The Love Parade" (1929), "One Hour with You" (1932), "Naughty Marietta" (1935), and "San Francisco" (1936), all nominated for Academy Awards (Best Picture). Raymond was less well-known than his wife but had a number of notable films, mostly as a supporting actor, including "Red Dust" (1932), "Flying Down to Rio" (1933), and "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" (1941).
