Beverly Hills, CA: United Artists, 1939 (1926). Two vintage studio still photographs from the 1939 Australian re-release of the 1926 film, here under the misspelled title "Son of the Shiek."

Based on the 1925 novel by Edith Maude Hull. A sequel to the 1921 silent film "The Sheik." The son of a sheik leaves his father's compound to find and romance a local dancer, but is kidnapped by her father and the man she is betrothed to.

A comeback for actor Rudolph Valentino, who had seen his star fade in the years since "The Sheik" (a film that cemented his "Great Lover" image). Unfortunately, he would die of an infection shortly after the film's premiere and before it received a wide release.

Shot on location in Yuma, Arizona, Imperial County, California, and the Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes in California .

10 x 8 inches. About Near Fine, with some creasing at the corners.

National Film Registry.
