Based on Tom Wolfe's essay "The Last American Hero Is Junior Johnson. Yes!," first published in "Esquire" in March of 1965. Junior Johnson was an American race car driver made famous by his long and successful NASCAR career, winning over 50 races and going on to own a NASCAR team in the 1970s.
Set in North Carolina, shot on location in North Carolina and Virginia.
Red titled wrappers. Title page present, undated, with credits for Wolfe and screenwriter William Roberts.
