Based on the 1922 short story "His Good Name" by William Slavens McNutt. Years after returning home from prison and finding his mother dead and father evicted, Bat Shugrue, then known as "Gas-Pipe Kid," becomes a baseball star and refuses to throw a game for blackmailers threatening to reveal his past.

28 x 22 inches on card stock. Very Good plus, with moderate edgewear including small closed tears, creasing, and chipping at the extremities.
