A semi-autobiographical account of Pryor's life in which, after attempting suicide by setting himself on fire, a popular standup comedian falls into a coma and must reexamine his difficult past. The impetus for this self reflection closely resembles an event in Pryor's own past in which, while struggling with drug addiction and freebasing cocaine, he covered himself in high proof alcohol and set himself on fire. Shot on location in Peoria, Illinois.
