Vaudeville is a fading form of entertainment and prospects are grim for the Norwick family, a juggling act struggling to find work. They are forced to find normal jobs and one daughter elopes with her boyfriend, leaving Albert's son forced to make a decision as to whether play professional baseball or join his father on a 16 week tour out west.
