The Girl From Astoli

An American widower living in Rome works as a hair scout to pay off his debts to a wigmaker. He is told to go to the small town of Astoli and buy the hair of a young handicapped woman. Instead he falls in love with her, and cannot bring himself to persuade her to shave and sell her hair, despite the great price it would fetch.

Set in Italy.
