Seek the Devil
Beverly Hills, CA: Ronald S. Dunas - Paul Leserman, Circa 1971. Draft script for an unproduced Western film. Included with the script is a typed letter reviewing the screenplay, dated 12-8-71, ostensibly from a reader within the Paul Kohner Casting Agency.
On the US-Mexico border, Captain Lucas Randall and his posse of ex-Texas Ranger bounty hunters believe they have killed the notorious bandit "Mano Rojo" Castinares and his band of criminals, Los Hermanos Perdidos. When members of the posse start turning up dead, however, the gang realizes the bloodthirsty Castinares is indeed alive, and seeking vengeance. A bizarre story, most memorably featuring a number of heads preserved in pickling jars, death by scorpion, and a final Black Mass-style shootout in a mission church turned Satanic temple.
Set on the US-Mexico border.
