A wealthy British woman's orderly life is disrupted by her sudden marriage to a handsome, unstable Sicilian man. As their relationship begins to degrade, the woman suspects the marriage may have been one of convenience for her boorish new husband, leading her to take violent and drastic measures to persuade him to change his misogynistic ways. Screenwriters Cesare Frugoni and Tonino Cervi were best known for their collaborations in Italian film in the late 20th century, including "La nottata" (1975), "Chi dice donna dice donna" (1976), "Nest of Vipers" (1978), and "L'avaro" (1990).

Set in London and rural England.
