Based on the 1947 novella by John Steinbeck, who co-wrote the screenplay. A poor Mexican family living in a fishing village believe their fortune is made when they discover a valuable pearl, but soon realize the treasure only brings them further trouble. Noted Mexican cinematographer Gabriel Figueroa's twelfth film collaboration with prolific Golden Age director Emilio Fernandez.
Set and shot on location in Acapulco, Mexico.
10 x 8 inches. Five photographs Very Good plus, two photographs Very Good, with uniform fading and light creasing.
