A small town boy enlists in the Air Force with the hopes of becoming a fighter pilot, but soon finds that his only aptitude is for marksmanship, and as a result he is assigned to a post as a shooting instructor at a base near his hometown.

Set in West Virginia, France, Britain, and Germany, and shot on location in Thousand Oaks and Channel Islands, California.
