Script divided into sequences, as was customary for the period.
Sailor and abolitionist Michael "Nuggin" Taylor (Gary Cooper) is on trial for the deaths of nineteen people on the slave ship William Brown in 1842.
Nominated for three Academy Awards.
Shot on location on Santa Catalina Island, California.
